prof. I have searched unsuccessfully for information about "E2515". What testing service gave you this result? If you care to provide more details, I'll do my best to give you some more perspective. In short, E2515 is not on the extensive J tree.

(or if E2515 is some new more refined result, we should have a broader subclade to reference that is already within the J1 or J2 tree).

Once we can locate you approximately on this tree, we will have much better understanding of where your subclade of the haplogroup J might have been in different times.

Yes, the time of origin of the broad haplogroup J was very long ago, more than 25,000 years ago.. (but it means if we trace my father's father and your father's father, we would reach the same man 25,000 years ago at the beginning of the J haplogroup. How much further our lineage connects would then depend on more detailed analyze of your subclade. But surely yourself, Morello, myself and the other "J" members of this forum were from the same progenitor more recently than other people not with "J" y'dna haplogroup).

Within the J tree, my subclade "sk1337" formed 3,500 years ago. So more precision is found with more detailed searches.

I have had success using familytreedna's "Big Y" test and then sharing the results with "Y Full" organization. That is the current way to shed the most light on your paternal haplogroup.
