Mr. and Mrs. Henry Bentivoglio Middleton of New York and Greve-in-Chianti, Italy, have announced the engagement of their daughter, Julia Bentivoglio Middleton, to Ottavio Serena di Lapigio, an assistant vice president in the world corporate department of the Bankers Trust Company in New York and son of Baron and Baroness Fabrizio Serena di Lapigio of Rome.

A June wedding in Greve-in-Chianti is planned.

Miss Middleton, a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania, is doing volunteer work on the anthropology floor at the American Museum of Natural History. Her father is a former diamond prospector and rancher.

The future bride is a granddaughter of Charles Shipman Payson, an industrialist, of Portland, Me.; the late Joan Whitney Payson, former owner of the New York Mets baseball club; the late Count Arthur Bentivoglio Middleton of Florence and the late Princess Carolina Rospigliosi of Rome. She is descended from Arthur Middleton, a signer of the Declaration of Independence.

Mr. Serena received a doctorate in economics and business from Rome University. He is a grandson of Princess Sophia Lanza di Trabia of Rome and the late Prince Giangiacomo Borghese , who was Governor of Rome in the 1930's. His father was a racing car driver in the 40's and 50's.

Se la principessa in questione ha contratto qualche matrimonio e non se ne ha notizia, per i più svariati motivi, allora penso sia il caso di chiedere direttamente a qualche membro dei Rospigliosi. Spesso, in caso di divorzi o altro, certe notizie non appaiono pubblicamente. O magari neanche era sposata ! Chissà...
