Looking at the summary of this supposition we can see how wildly problematic this becomes. We aren't speaking of some diaspora, possible to trace, in the 1500 or 1600s. But rather what certainly feels similar to the classic makings of fantastical embellishments and unverifiable tales of almost 1,000 years ago. Also, when we consider Irish surname traditions - this becomes really clouded, as we should know that hundreds and thousands within the same Irish "clans" took the same surname but had no related lineage! [...]So even if this were true, maybe only a very small % of the Fitzgerald would have these paternal ancestors. Finally, record keeping practices in Ireland were so poor relative to the Italian Peninsula, it's just a story that will more than likely remain, just a story.
